Every year, Aug. 15 is celebrated as National Relaxation Day. Americans are encouraged to take a moment, breathe deeply, and engage in whatever activities help them relax and unwind. The idea behind National Relaxation Day is that stress is increasingly common in daily life, yet few people intentionally take time to relieve it. This year, Lincoln joined the celebration by inviting people to experience relaxation inside a Lincoln vehicle, enjoying the many comfort-enhancing features it offers.

How Did Lincoln Participate in National Relaxation Day?

Lincoln highlighted two of its models – the 2025 Lincoln Navigator and the 2025 Lincoln Nautilus – for National Relaxation Day. Both vehicles were selected for their ability to provide relaxation through a combination of physical comfort and multi-sensory features. They feature exceptionally soft and supportive seats, along with advanced technology designed to promote calm and well-being.

In addition to showcasing these features, Lincoln partnered with researchers at Purdue University to examine whether participants experienced measurable physiological relaxation inside the vehicles. The study involved 43 participants divided into three groups: a control group, a group using Lincoln’s Rejuvenate multi-sensory technology without scent therapy, and a group using Rejuvenate with its integrated scent therapy.

Results were promising: 98% of participants reported preferring the relaxation technologies in Lincoln vehicles compared to their normal environment. Over 60% expressed interest in regularly using the technology. Beyond self-reported benefits, researchers observed that participants using Rejuvenate experienced slower heart rates and brainwave patterns consistent with other relaxation practices such as meditation, sitting in a peaceful environment, stretching, or listening to calming music.

About Rejuvenate Technology

Lincoln’s Rejuvenate system offers several immersive themes designed to create a calming experience. “Aurora Borealis” provides a visual and auditory experience that inspires relaxation. “Elements” takes users on a virtual journey incorporating aspects of nature, while “Waterfall Meditation” uses the soothing sounds of flowing water to promote tranquility.

Lincoln emphasizes that its technology is intended to help people relax every day, not just on Aug. 15, showcasing its vehicles as a practical tool for stress relief.
