How Often Should I Service My Lincoln Navigator?

When you first buy a Lincoln to when it reaches 100,000 miles and beyond, keeping up with regular service is essential to ensure your vehicle remains in top shape. Some types of service need to be performed more regularly than others, such as oil changes and tire rotations. However, it's essential to keep up with all recommended services to ensure your Lincoln and its components last as long as possible. You can find your recommended Lincoln Navigator maintenance schedule in the owner's manual that comes with your vehicle. Every Navigator's recommended maintenance schedule may vary slightly based on its age, trim level, and model year.

20,000 Miles

Most Lincoln Navigator service intervals start around 20,000 miles. From the ground up, your Navigator will have several services performed. First, a mechanic will check the air filters in your car's cabin to see if they are dirty. If so, they will need to be replaced. The mechanic will also look at the cooling system in Lincoln's engine to check the hoses, the engine's strength, and coolant fluid levels. The half-shaft boots will be checked around 20,000 miles as well. Many Lincoln moving parts will be inspected, including the U-joints and the front axle. They will be lubricated as needed if they have grease fittings.

Similarly, the steering system components such as the tie-rod ends and ball joints will be checked and lubricated as needed. Your car's automatic transmission fluid levels will also be checked at 20,000 miles. The brakes and braking components such as the linings, drums, shoes, rotors, and brake pads will be evaluated, along with the hoses in the braking system. A Lincoln technician will look at the car's wheels to ensure they are safe and rotate the tires if needed.

30,000 Mile Service

When your car reaches 30,000 miles, it will need additional maintenance. If any of the services were not performed at 20,000 miles, they might be performed at the 30,000-mile mark instead. Your Navigator may also need to have the engine air filter replaced.

100,000 Mile Service

Your Lincoln will have a comprehensive inspection at 100,000 miles. It may also get a mechanic's inspection between 60,000 and 75,000 miles to ensure there are no significant problems. At 100,000 miles, the spark plugs may need to be changed depending on the car's engine, and the accessory drive belts may be checked for problems as well.
