We've all, at some point, put a sticker on one of our cars that we've ended up regretting; whether it's an old political statement, a souvenir from a place you drove to, or just about anything else, removing a sticker from your vehicle can be tough. So, to help out as much as we can, we have some tips for you on how to make this experience as painless as possible - both for you and your vehicle's paint.
- If it's on your bumper, wash the area around the sticker to remove grit
- Use a hairdryer to soften the adhesive, staying a few inches away and working from the middle outward
- Use a plastic card (NOT a commonly-used credit card!) to start peeling the sticker off at a corner
- If the sticker is still too sticky, reapply heat from the hairdryer
- Once the sticker is removed, use the hairdryer and plastic card on any leftover pieces and residue
- Bug and tar remover made to be used on paint can also help remove residue
- Finally, use detailing spray and a cotton cloth to finish the area
